Nippers commences this weekend - Sunday 8th October!!!

What We Do

Lifesaving

It is now more than ever the case that community service and growth is vital to the development of the community. We as a club not only represent a community service in terms of our patrolling of the beach but also form a strong link in relation to the community advocacy and growth.

Every member who actively involves themselves in patrolling the beach is servicing the community in a myriad of ways. The lifesaving section of Maroubra SLSC has gone from strength to strength over the past decade and now boosts one of the strongest lifesaving sections in the state.

This has been seen through the clubs strong development of its members as well as the representation of members through Branch, State and Australian Awards of Excellence.

Maroubra SLSC has identified our youth of the club as a priority and will take efforts to develop them through member development camps as well internal activities aimed at growing the leadership and potential of our younger members who will go on to take over the surf club management one day.

The patrolling section of the club is now over 300 members strong. This has shown the great growth in our membership due to the strong leadership and training provided through the club.

The training section represents a vital link in the lifesaving chain due to their ability to prepare our lifesavers for the beach as well as up-skill existing members with greater training in order to provide a better service to the community.
